Sunday Jazz in Wigan (formerly Wigan Jazz Club) - Come and join some fellow Wigan u3a members for some musical entertainment and conversation.

Building on the rising popularity of public appearances by the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra, a jazz club In Wigan was set up 1984. It is now one of the UK’s longest running jazz clubs. Over theyears musicians from all over the world have performed at the Club and today under its new name ‘Sunday Jazz in Wigan’ it has retained a reputation as one of the finest organisations of its type in the UK.

Sunday Jazz in Wigan prides itself not only on the high-calibre entertaining artists it features but the warmth of welcome for which it has become renowned. Audience members whether attending as individuals, couples or groups are met by a genuinely friendly atmosphere and who always make the most of the available refreshments. Sunday Jazz in Wigan really is a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the company of others who have an appreciation of good music and friendly conversation.

Each month (September through till June) concerts take place on the last Sunday lunchtime of the month 12.30 - 3.00pm at Whelley Ex Servicemen’s Club Vauxhall Road Wigan WN1 3LU
