Michelin Star Dining - The Barn at Aughton

We thought we would give Fine Dining a try. Group member Liz Nolan researched a few possibilities, and the option picked was the Barn at Aughton Hall near Ormskirk as this was reasonably local. Under chef Mark Birchall, Moor Hall at Aughton has gained a great reputation for championing Lancashire produce, and earned a 3 Michelin Star rating; for a first trip however we opted however for their adjacent 1-star venue, The Barn, for a set Lunch menu, With limited dates available, we had to divide into two groups, with 10 members dining there in February and a remaining 4 in March. It was definitely an experience, Fairly small portions, but big tastes - not just the main dishes on the menu but various other tasters and treats added as extras. After this trial, possibly considering creating a longer term fine-dining group! We seem to have got a taste for finer things now!
