The key thing about this group is that each activity will have a different leader.
I am asking for volunteers not just to think up an idea, but also be willing to research opportunities, find out costs and venues, put together a pitch to help recruit others to join in. Note that it doesn't have to be just one leader working alone, there is nothing to stop two or more people with similar ideas running something jointly.
As overall "group leader", and alongside fellow committee members, I'm able to advise and help - to share info via our various website and email channels, set up event enquiry email addresses, and to look to ensure things stay compliant with u3a policies. This however can only be an overview role, as I already have a lot of group commitments
It will however need to be the 'event leaders' who be doing the pitching, pricing, promoting, and planning how the event will actually be run on the day.
(This will be for things that are one-offs. If it is something that would be suitable to run as a regular scheduled activity, then better to speak to our Group Co-ordinator, David, who can help with setting up a longer-term group.)
