Strength and Conditioning

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
Jimmy Wignall
When: Weekly on Monday mornings 10:00 am-11:00 am
Venue: Inspired Gym

We currently have a number of people on a strength and conditioning training programme at Inspired Gym. The first sessions have been a great success and our instructor Ben is now arranging new groups for our members.

Benefits:

  • Strength & Stamina = independence: Stronger muscles and higher cardiovascular fitness are among the best predictors of healthspan, longevity, and independent living as we age.
  • Strength you can use: Easier stairs, sit-to-stand, and carrying shopping with less strain.
  • Better Stamina (heart–lung fitness): Structured, low-impact intervals to help members walk further and feel less out of breath.
  • Add and keep quality muscle: Supports joints and posture, helps blood-sugar control, and maintains a healthy metabolism.
  • Balance & confidence: Targeted drills to reduce fall risk and steady walking.
  • Safe, coached progress: Technique-first, options for every level, built to work with common aches or old injuries.
  • Measurable improvements: Simple first-session baseline and end-of-block checks so members can see progress.

What members can expect
Friendly coaching, clear demonstrations, and gradual progress each week. Strength and cardio sessions tailored to the group
